SK Nurul Absar, Bureau Head, Chittagong Division: A young man named Anas Ali Sumon has been arrested for raping a schoolgirl (16) after she was abducted in Raipur, Laxmipur.  On Saturday (June 11) at around 10 pm, the student’s mother filed a case against Sumon with the Raipur Police Station under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act.  RAB-11 Noakhali camp company captain Khandaker said at 11 pm.  Shamim Hossain has confirmed the matter.
Earlier in the morning, RAB rescued the student from a rented house in Rajapur village of Aichgati union under Rupsha police station in Khulna district and arrested Sumon.  The arrested Sumon is the son of Alamgir Hossain of the same village.
According to RAB sources, the victim is a resident of Sonapur Union in Raipur Upazila and a 10th class student of a local school.  A relationship developed with him through Sumon’s mobile.  Sumon abducted the girl on May 23 at noon while she was walking near the house.  Later, Sumon took the girl to Rajapur village in Khulna.  Since then, Sumon has raped her more than once against her will.
Meanwhile, after the abduction, on May 26, the student’s mother lodged a written complaint at the Noakhali camp of RAB-11.  Based on the allegations, with the help of secret news and technology, Aichgati of Khulna rescued the girl from Rajapur and arrested Sumon.  RAB-7 Khulna has assisted Noakhali team in this.
RAB-11’s Noakhali camp company captain Khandaker said.  Shamim Hossain said the teenager’s mother had filed a case against Sumon at Raipur police station for abduction and rape.  The accused has been handed over to the police for further legal action.
