SK Nurul Absar Nishu: Due to the constant supply of electricity in different areas of Chittagong city, public life became miserable.  The city dwellers are restless due to this power outage. The electrical equipment including computers are being wasted in it all the time.

The elderly and children have suffered immensely.  As a result, the pace of work in business establishments and office courts has slowed down due to unbearable load shedding for a long time.  According to sources, power generation has decreased in the whole country including Chittagong.  After a long time, PDB has officially announced load shedding in Chittagong.  Now, against the demand of 1300 MW at peak hours in Chittagong, an average of 300 to 350 MW of load shedding is going on every day, said the concerned engineer of PDB’s Chittagong region.  Loadshedding has started over the last few days.  This is not just a problem of Chittagong.  It is the same situation at the national level.  Some power plants in Chittagong are closed.  At present, 300 to 350 MW load shedding is going on in Chittagong.  At peak hours, Chittagong’s electricity demand is now around 1,300 MW. Chief Engineer M Rezaul Karim advised everyone to be aware of the use of electricity.

There are many benefits to turning off unnecessary lights right now.  If we save electricity from each condition then we will save a lot of electricity.  He said that load shedding has started in Chittagong from last Saturday.
